New Camp For Women’s Walk 105!

Dear Community,

By now, some of you have heard the rumor that Piney Woods Conservation Center is closing.  Unfortunately it is not a rumor.  On September 6, 2014 David Treadaway, the manager of PWCC announced his retirement effective on September 30, 2014 and he and Jo will be moving to Amarillo to be closer to their children.  We will miss you!!  Because of David’s retirement SFA has made the decision to close PWCC until a qualified replacement can be found.  Rather than cancel Walk #105 scheduled for October 23-26, 2014, the ETEC board of directors was determined that a new facility had to be found quickly.

I am proud to announce that with the help of the LORD, a suitable location has been found.  The October 23-26, 2014 walk will be held at YMCA Camp Cullen in Trinity, Texas.  It is a beautiful facility that will require some adjustments to the Emmaus Walk experience our community has known but will still follow the Upper Room guidelines.  We know the pilgrims will be blessed and we humbly request 4th Day to come out in support of these women and see this facility.

At our gathering October 18, at Woodville United Methodist Church we will answer any remaining questions that you as a community member might have concerning this change and how it affects the future.  I encourage you to come to the gathering and voice your concerns.  The gathering starts at 5:00 PM with a covered dish meal.  Sponsorship hour will start at 4:00PM.

In HIS Grip,
Janice Cummings
