It is another late evening friends;

I am disappointed that our Board is undergoing so many changes.  Change is good, but since we are so close to having an election and a full Board, I was hopeful for a little more stability.  I do believe that things happen for a reason and that God’s plan is always better than mine.

On to the more important stuff.  Progress is being made toward filling the February teams and we will have a great set of walks.  Now is the time to cover the Lay Directors with prayers and well wishes.  &&&&&&&&& don’t forget to say what is in your heart when they call asking you to serve.

Quite often I hear concerns about giving talks – and for the most part, they are simply the Bad Guy trying to explain why you shouldn’t subject yourself to all of that worry and stress.  Giving a talk is one of the most profound honors and blessings that can be offered to you.  Have you ever stopped to listen to the pilgrims talking about a specific talk and how it moved or influenced their whole week end – and the rest of their lives?  It seems like the right mindset is “when can I have the privilege of giving a talk”?

Like to cook and bless the pilgrims with your finest fare? – sign up for the kitchen

Like to be behind the scenes – doing all of the little things that the Pilgrims will not believe you paid good money to do for somebody you didn’t even know? – sign up for servant

Like to be in church – sign up for chapel and hone your prayer skills

There is something for everyone – just pay it forward.

Support the Lay Directors and prayerfully consider saying yes to the call.  This is where our 4th day efforts will pay off.  Step up – step out – pay it forward and give it your best shot.  Ask a friend to help you when needed.  Go the extra mile & do it even when you are too tired to say yes.

Don’t be a part time 4th day.  There is a new game in town!!  Jump in and go for the Gusto.

Once again, I cannot over emphasize the importance of the Reunion Groups.  Attend one, start one, just be part of one.  Build a strong 4th day effort for your church and your community.  Pass out information to all who are interested.

Don’t forget the next ETEC Gathering is scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd at “Shebbyville”  FUMC   Sponsorship training will be held at 4pm followed by potluck dinner and festivities beginning at 5pm.   Bring your favorite dish.   Ask your church friends and Sunday school partners to come and enjoy a great evening with Christian friends.  Invite everybody.
