Newsworthy Information

Now that the holidays are over I have listed some newsworthy information below.  This is the excerpt from our bulletin.

We are now in need for a new person with an interest in doing the Emmaus newsletter.  If you have this interest and would like to exercise your talents, please notify any member of the Board for more information.  This is an immediate vacancy and we would greatly appreciate your support in finding someone who has some creative writing talents and some fresh ideas.

Time is running short for the upcoming walks and if you are going to sponsor a pilgrim don’t wait any longer.  Get the applications and deposits in as soon as possible.   Now is the time to express your 4th day contribution in making these walks a success.  Remember, it is not the walk, it is what happens to them on the walk that leaves the lasting imprint on their future.  Pray, call, sign up the pilgrims, pray, and spread the word.

What a great turnout for the December Gathering!!  Thank you to all who generously placed Christmas gifts under the tree in the Fellowship Hall last month.  Your contributions, distributed through Helping Hands and SAAFE House, brought smiles to many families in need.  You showed God’s Glory with each donation.

Please mark you calendars for these upcoming events:

Saturday, January 8th      Trailer Work Day   All Are Invited
Volunteers are needed to help organize and inventory the Emmaus trailer.  We need to get it ready for the winter walks and provide lists of current supplies to team leaders.  We will meet at 10:00am in the Fellowship Hall.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided.  With everyone’s help, we should be done by early afternoon.

Saturday, January 15th     ETEC Gathering
The event is open to all and will be held at First Christian Church, Lufkin with potluck dinner at 5pm followed by fellowship, 4th Day Speaker, Worship and Communion.  Prior to the Gathering, the board will conduct sponsorship training at 4:00pm.  Remember, if you have not had this training you cannot sponsor a pilgrim for the upcoming walks.
