The most precious (and lasting) Agape gift you can give a friend is an invitation to the Walk to Emmaus . . . wouldn’t you agree? Some of us may have a prospect in mind, but just don’t know how to go about it. There are many ways, here is a sample letter:
Dear [Friend’s name],
I participated in the Walk To Emmaus [?] years ago; [spouse if applicable] went about [?] later. This “Walk” proved to be a very enriching spiritual experience for us . . . one that I feel called to tell others about. Many folks from [church name] Church have attended “Walks” and I think they would tell you that their involvement in the life of our Church has grown and is more meaningful as a result.
The Walk is a non-denominational event. Members of many different local and area churches participate. Walks for our area are held at Piney Woods Conservation Center, east of Broaddus near Powell Park at Lake Sam Rayburn
The next [men’s/women’s] walk will be [date]. That’s about 72 hours from a busy schedule that you probably don’t think you can spare, but 72 hours of focus on Jesus Christ that can enrich one’s life in a very positive way. I’m asking that you prayerfully consider a Walk to Emmaus . . . I would love to help with your sponsorship. I’ll check with you in a couple of days to see if you have any questions.
Yours in Christ,
Attach a Walk Info Sheet, pray for your prospect, and call back in a few days.
